CEO and Owner
Matt opened M. Carlson Painting in 2001. He saw the need in the market for reliable, accountable, and professional painting crews and knew he could fulfill the demand. 20 years later, Matt’s vision has gone from a one-person crew to a nationally growing home improvement company. The success M. Carlson Painting has experienced comes from the team’s dedication to doing the job right and on time.
Matt enjoys spending time with his kids, coaching, skiing, doing yard work with his wife, and golfing.
Charity of Choice: The First Responders Foundation supports key programs, provides funds for other initiatives for first responders, and allows the Foundation to accomplish the mission of serving and honoring first responders and their families and building appreciation and respect for their work.

Adam
Chief Operating Officer
A former business coach, Adam brings his experience leading small businesses to M. Carlson Painting. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, he’s responsible for creating an incredible experience for our customers and team members.
Adam is married with two young boys. He is an avid reader, a John Maxwell certified trainer, speaker, and coach, and participates in long-distance endurance events, including completing 3 ironman triathlons and a 50-mile race.
Choice of Charity: O.U.R. has made a significant impact in the fight to end sex trafficking and sexual exploitation by rescuing and supporting thousands of survivors in 30 countries and 50 U.S. states.

Candace
Customer Experience Manager
With a degree in public relations and background in financial industry, Candace help develop and execute MCP’s business plan. Candace enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking, kayaking, yard work, walking dogs, and traveling.

Joel
Senior Project Manager
Joel started painting 10 years ago and in a short time, went from a crew member to lead, to a business owner. Joel joined MCP in 2019 and has taken on the role of Training Development Manager to help train our crews to strive for excellence in their work and service.
Joel enjoys his work, spending time with his family, soccer, camping, bicycling, driving ATVs, enjoying the lakes in the summer, and outdoor activities.
Choice of charity: St. Jude’s Research Hospital. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family’s ability to pay.

Jerry
Carpenter/Installer
Jerry has been in the construction industry for 10 years and done a lot of remodeling and painting and has been known for his great communication and customer service. He has been working with M. Carlson Painting over the past years and we has finally decided to be a full time employee and join the MCP crew. He has done photography for a business.
He has been a Minnesota resident for most of his life. He enjoys camping, Photography, hiking, mountain biking and being outdoors. He is married and enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn daughter.
Charity of Choice: Feed my starving children, which is a Christian non-profit organization
that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food to people in developing nations and
has reached out to more than 70 countries.

Jeff
Commercial Cleaning
Jeff is our Commercial Project Specialist. Jeff is a former business owner, who has worked extensively with Property Managers, Facility Managers, CEO’s and Business owners. With his extensive background
in sales, project management, and a focus on customer service, he understands the importance of safety, production schedules, and the effect projects like these have on the customer’s business.
In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, cooking on his grills/smokers, and listening to live music.
Charity of Choice: Chanhassen Evening Rotary Club.

Kelly
Marketing and Operations Director
Kelly has owned her own business for over 19 years and has been a graphic designer for the past 10 years. She loves putting a personal spin on her work and enjoys the creativity part of creating unique things. In the past five years, she has developed a passion for photography and though her favorite is capturing her kid’s sports, she loves using her photographic eye in creating ‘freeze frame’ moments.
Kelly enjoys watching her 4 kids play the sports they love, traveling-usually for sports tournaments, photography, camping, and hanging out with my family and dog!
Charity of Choice: Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, which is near and dear to her family, as her mother passed away from ovarian cancer in 2018. (OCRA) is the oldest and largest ovarian cancer charity in the world.

Kyle
General Manager | Residential Division
Kyle has been in the painting business for over 20 years. His business background and experience in painting and leading painting crews have helped Kyle know the “ins” and “outs” of the full painting process. Kyle is one of our Sales and Project Managers.
Kyle enjoys climbing, camping, fishing, skiing, outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Matt
Sales | Project Manager
Matt has been in the painting business for nearly 20 years, beginning in multi-million-dollar
homes. He has a diverse background in business ownership of both painting and design build, financial services, stage acting, film, public safety, and EMS. Matt has a high value of treating every human being with dignity and respect.
Matt is married with four children: three girls and one boy. He loves being with his family,
cooking, swimming, and watching re-runs of Seinfeld. Matt also enjoys serving as Reserve Police Officer for a local police department and you may see him at local sporting events providing pre-hospital emergency care for injured athletes.
Choice of charity: The Gary Sinise Foundation serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need. This is done by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.

Sammy
Wall Coverings Division Lead
Sammy is from rural Wisconsin and inner-city Detroit. She has a degree in Art Theory and Criticism/Interdisciplinary Studio Art (BFA), via The School of The Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Sammy’s work has been exhibited in New York, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and California. As a professional artist, she has mastered many art/design fabrication mediums from; pattern design, digital design, sign painting, hand lettering, murals, faux finishing, wallcoverings, tapestries, gold leafing, and art restoration (to name a few). Sammy is presently based in Minneapolis, MN— also working as a non-profit, community art teacher. She spends her leisure time with her fiancé; playing chess, watching films and baseball. Sometimes finding time to sing and make music. Taking time out to enjoy the natural world, by way of trail running, backpacking, and hiking.
Sammy’s charity of choice is, Every Third Saturday, (a Minnesota Veteran’s outreach program) which provides resources necessary to help improve veterans lives, heal from trauma, find purpose, establish stability and strengthen community in pursuit towards their best future.

Shanna
CFO
As the owner of Golz Accounting Services, Shanna brings over 17 years of experience to M. Carlson Painting. She enjoys working with small business owners and is dedicated to helping her clients grow their businesses. Her role and responsibilities include the day-to-day bookkeeping and strategic growth initiatives. Shanna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography from St Cloud State University.
Her interests involve cooking, photography, traveling, and spending time with her family and two dogs.
Charity of Choice: A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation. She and her mother were founding members of the organization. Since losing her mother to lung cancer in 2009, she remains passionate about raising awareness around this deadly disease.

Woody
General Manager | Builders Division
Woody has been in the finishing business for over 30 years. His knowledge and experience in the industry help MCP customers receive the best approach to their projects and get them done correctly.
Woody enjoys refinishing furniture, amatuer silversmithing, rockhounding and lapidary, and paleo archeology, spending time with his wife of 25 years, granddaughter, and dog.
Charity of Choice: Missions Inc. A safe place for victims of abuse and addiction to get the help that they need.

Jesse
Sales | Project Manager
Jesse previously owned his own painting company and has been painting for 15 years. He is originally from Texas and has been in Utah most of his life I also have a background in epoxy flooring, it all is like art to him. He loves the constant learning
and changing in the industry. He has experience in painting, epoxy floors, finish work, and wallpapering.
Jesse is a huge basketball fan. He’s a huge NBA fan. Jesse played basketball in Highschool and a little basketball in college as well. Jesse is the father of 5 kids who I love to watch grow.
Choice of charity: NAACP is the home of grassroots activism for civil rights and social justice. They advocate, agitate, and litigate for the civil rights due to Black America. They are committed to a world without racism where Black people enjoy equitable opportunities in thriving communities.
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA

Johnny
Sales | Project Manager
Previously owning a home remodeling company, Johnny has experience with remodeling kitchens, basements, and bathrooms, as well as flooring painting and popcorn removal. Jonny has been in the remodeling/painting industry for over five years but previously with his own company for about two years, before he worked with his crew for M Carlson Painting. He then moved out to Indianapolis to become a project manager for M. Carlson Painting and help us start our Indiana branch.
Jonny likes to watch movies, go to the park with his family, go camping, attend church activities and sports too.
Charity of choice: Big brother big sister of central Indiana.

Dirceu
Sales | Project Manager
Previously worked at another painting company before being offered to work with MCP. I have been painting for 4 years and have done remodeling as well. I have always enjoyed working with others and seeing the growth amongst one another. I do some real estate on the side and when I have some free time and learn about the market and its ever-changing state.
I enjoy my time with my family and being with friends. Fun fact about me is that I play multiple instruments but my main instrument I play is the trumpet. I attend church on the weekends and play sports.
